The Problem We Saw
After decades in the pharmaceutical industry, our founder Dr. Hiep X. Nguyen witnessed a troubling disconnect: while prescription drugs underwent rigorous development, testing, and quality standards, dietary supplements and cosmetics—products millions use daily—often received minimal scientific attention.
The supplement industry had become:
- Commodity-driven (cheapest ingredients, not best)
- Marketing-focused (bold claims, minimal evidence)
- Quality-inconsistent (batch-to-batch variation common)
- Technologically stagnant (basic formulations, no innovation)
Meanwhile, pharmaceutical technologies that could dramatically improve these products—advanced delivery systems, bioavailability enhancement, sophisticated testing—remained largely unused in the consumer health space.
This didn’t have to be the norm.
